C250 Adventure Challenge - June Update

The loves of my life - Eric, Summer & Christopher June was the peak of the C250 Adventure Challenge year.  Given that we have had to deal with a global pandemic causing serious social and economic damage, plummeting oil & gas prices, angry racial & social anarchy to the south of us, and murder hornets waking from their winter slumber to decimate our local bee population, I am surprised I was able to get anything accomplished on my ambitious list without totally crumpling in place from anxiety.  Trust me, it has been a struggle and I have wanted to crumple.  My whole life has been a struggle, how I deal with this and carry on now, while continuing to be me, is really no different. Jun 28 & 29, 2020 - Blowdown Pass

It was November Klaus and I last hiked when we collected the BC Parks  Wildlife Monitoring Program trail camera.  For many reasons in the 7 months since then we have not been able to go hiking.  Like so many of you, I have been going stir crazy.  Many discussions were had between us that we should probably ease ourselves into getting started back up again by doing some really gentle day hikes in our local area.  However, when the   John Baldwin and Linda Bily send an email invitation to join them and a couple of their friends for an easy two-day backpack into Blowdown Pass, how can you say no?  I was absolutely thrilled to be getting out into the backcountry and be surrounded by mountains again.  Getting my gear & pack ready A little over an hour and a half drive from Whistler we followed Highway 99 to Mount Currie and 7 kms past Pemberton onto the Duffy Lake road towards Lillooet.  Finally after 3.5 hours in the ...
