Sep 20 - 24, 2019 - Amazon Jungle Located deep in the Peruvian jungle, the Tambopata Research Center (owned and run by Rainforest Expeditions) is one of the most remote lodges in the Amazon and even the whole of South America. The isolated location makes it an extraordinary place to observe nature and wildlife of the rainforest, largely undisturbed by humans. Situated in the Tambopata National Reserve in the Madre de Dios region of Peru, the lodge doubles as a research and visitor centre. The Tambopata province is one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet, and the region is so secluded that few roads can reach so far in the dense jungle. Reaching the lodge was an adventure in itself.  We flew an hour and a half from Cusco to the Puerto Maldonado airport, where we took a quick bus ride to the Rainforest Expeditions office.  It was here we were introduced to our Guide, Erick (easy to remember his name!) who would be with us for the next 5 days and encourage...
