May 19-21, 2018 - Meares & Flores Island Adventure

This past May long weekend the weather did not look too great to find a local area to do a mountain backpack somewhat close to home. So, I did some searching on the Weather Network and found that Vancouver Island, more specifically, Tofino looked like it was going to have some decent weather. Perfect! I was desperate to not spend my long weekend cooped up at home and most likely boredom shopping at MEC, so I ended up planning an Island adventure. With lots of searching on Google I mapped out what I wanted to do and hoped we could accomplish it all in the time we had and without making Ferry reservations. This was also my first multi-day backpack since I have been on a ketogenic diet. Finding the right kind of foods and exerting the energy required was going to be interesting.
